Since my last post way back on June 11th, I have written drafts of several posts and haven’t completed any of them! So I’m not going to go into a big explanation about why I haven’t posted I’m just going to post something and then move on!
So over the last month plus I have ran two to three days every week. Most of them have been run at a pace slower than I was running last year. But considering I usually don’t run at all during the summer months I think running slower beats not running!
With that being said I did run this morning. I was neither too hot or too humid. The sun was bright though, so I loved the few spots of shade I got along my route.
Even though I was running at a slower pace, the run was somewhat of a struggle. The two minor hills on the course seemed like mountains. In addition, the slight declines provided little relief!
The good things is I made it! My average pace over the 3.1 mile course was 11.20 min/mi. Here are the nerdy details…..

The Soundtrack: Daydreams in Blue
The soundtrack for the run was Daydreams in Blue the latest release from Anthony Geraci. The album is currently number 4 on the Roots Music Report‘s Blues Chart. It rose from number 45 last week! I chose the album because I was unfamiliar with Geraci.
After the run, I discovered Anthony Geraci has been a fixture on the blues music scene for a long time. Geraci a pianist, Hammond-3 organist and composer was an original member of Sugar Ray and the Bluetones, and Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, recording extensively with both groups. From Intrepid Artists International:
Anthony has been nominated for the prestigious Pinetop Perkins Piano Award for the last Five years- 2016/2017/2018/2019/2020 by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN. In 2019 Anthony received nominations from Living Blues Magazine: Outstanding Musician-Keyboard; Traditional Blues Album/Blues Band of the Year/Male Blues Artist- Blues Blast Music Magazine; Best Traditional Blues Band-Making-A-Scene.
Anthony’s latest recording Why Did You Have To Go (Shining Stone) has received world wide accolades. It debuted at #4 on the Living Blues Radio Chart, and was in the top 50 most played recordings for 36 weeks- Blues Roots Report. 2019 Nominations from the Blues Foundation-Memphis, TN include: Album, Traditional Album, Song of the Year “Angelina, Angelina” Traditional Male Blues Artist, Band of the Year Anthony Geraci and the Boston Blues All-Stars.
Geraci’s band on Daydreams in Blue features vocalist Dennis Brennan, Troy Gonyea, Michael Mudcat Ward and Jeff Armstrong. Special guest Walter Trout and Monster Mike Welch add some great guitar.
So check out the album. I know it will be in my music rotation for a long while. I will also be checking out his previous releases.
